Al-Alamiah Electronics, part of Al-Alamiah Group, www.alalmaih.com, and one of the largest comprehensive IT solutions provider in the region, was awarded "Best IT Solutions Provider" for its outstanding presence & exceptional performance within regional markets, & for its capability to fulfill the demands, needs & requirements of its clients, be they ministries, organizations or companies. The award was presented during GITEX Riyadh 2004, the largest IT exhibition in the region, which ended on Thursday, 22nd of April.

"Al-Alamiah has had an impressive track record during the past year. The Group proved that it is the unrivalled main partner for international companies, and that it has the largest client base in Saudi Arabia and the region," commented Walid Akkawi, Publishing Director, ITP, the organization which presented this award. He added, "We have adopted strict standards in presenting our awards. These standards take into account the nature of the projects undertaken by companies, the strategic importance of these projects & the satisfaction of major clients. Al-Alamiah was undoubtedly at the top of the nominees who have achieved these standards."

It is worth noting that Al-Alamiah Group was awarded Best IT Solutions Provider at COMDEX, held at Jedda, Saudi Arabia, last year. Within the past few weeks, the Group also received the Dell Platinum Partner award, Dell's Desktop Partner of the year, and Key Server Cluster Account Winner, for Europe, the Middle East & Africa.

Al-Alamiah Group is the largest IT contractor in the region, and includes nine companies, all of which specialize in ICT. The Group's head office is located in the Kuwaiti capital. Al-Alamiah awarded Dell’s Desktop Partner of the year & Key Server Cluster Account Winner, for Europe, the Middle East & Africa, for its outstanding performance in 2003.

Dell, the globally renowned American giant for computer equipment & servers, recently announced that Al-Alamiah Group, www.alalamiah.com, has been awarded the title “Platinum Partner”. This announcement comes as Al-Alamiah Group receives two more international awards from Dell for the Group’s performance during 2003.

“We consider receiving this prestigious title, and the two key awards, to be the fruits of the joint efforts between our Group and Dell in serving the markets of the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. These awards also represent Al-Alamiah Group's continued success & re-enforces our exceptional role in providing comprehensive solutions, IT products & services throughout Saudi Arabia & the region,” explained Fahad Al Sharekh, Business Development Director, Al-Alamiah Group, who made this announcement to the press. Al-Alamiah Group is the authorized agent for Dell products in Kuwait & Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Hamed Al Sharekh, Deputy Chairman, Al-Alamiah Group & CEO, Al-Alamiah Electronics, KSA, received the awards which were presented by Mr. Pim Dale, Managing Director, Dell, during the annual conference for Dell distributors in Europe, the Middle East & Africa. The conference was held in the Spanish capital, Madrid, from 31 March to 2 April 2004.

“Al-Alamiah is our Platinum Partner, as the Group has gained the trust of the IT market in the region,” commented Dale. He added, “Al-Alamiah is an authorized Dell service provider, and the Group has been instrumental in placing our innovative technologies & our exceptional products within the reach of our major clients in the region.”

“This recognition proves that Al-Alamiah has continued to successfully & proficiently move towards developing our Group's relationship with international giants,” stated Hamed Al Sharekh. He added, “This will further strengthen our Group's position in the field of IT services.”

Al-Alamiah was awarded Dell's Desktop Partner of the year, for Europe, the Middle East & Africa, for its exceptional performance for 2003 in the Saudi Arabian markets. Al-Alamiah was also announced Key Server Cluster Account Winner, as the Group won the largest contract for this region for the sale/distribution of these servers.

Fahad Al Sharekh explained that these awards are the result of Al-Alamiah’s accumulated experiences, and the Group’s concentrated investments in building qualified technical personnel, as well as its outstanding service centers. All of this qualified Al-Alamiah to earn this recognition.

“Al-Alamiah is effectively the major service & product provider for its clients within the region. The Group attracts major clients, as well as major service providers,” Al Sharekh added.

Al-Alamiah distributed & serviced over 42 thousand computers in the offices of Optiplex in KSA during 2003. The Group also provided solutions for over 1200 network servers, PowerEdge from Dell’s servers, storage systems & solutions. This outstanding performance places Al-Alamiah in a superior position which enabled it to snatch the title of Dell’s Desktop Partner from amongst 110 competing distributors all over Europe, the Middle East & Africa.

This is the first time in the Middle East that this prestigious title & these key distinctions are awarded to the same company, at the same time. This is an exceptional accomplishment for Al-Alamiah Group on the European, Middle Eastern & African front. Al-Alamiah Group awarded “Best Enterprise IT Solution Provider” at COMDEX 2004 The bestowing of this prestigious award was announced during the events at COMDEX Jeddah 2004, the largest IT exhibition in the region, which is taking place from 14th - 17th March 2004.

The official opening of the exhibition took place on Saturday, 13th March 2004, at the Jeddah International Exhibition, under the patronage of HRH Prince Abdul Majeed bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of the Mecca region in Saudi Arabia.

The exhibition which is organized by Al Dabbagh IT boasted approximately 250 local & international participants this year specializing in the IT & PC sectors. Exhibitors included stands from Canada, USA, Taiwan, Korea and UK. Observers expect that the total value of deals which will take place at this exhibition will exceed US$50 million, and will include deals with government organizations and private companies involved in the technology field.
